Great Lakes Safaris is delighted to announce that the company has been selected as the lead sponsor for Send a Cow Uganda.
2014 Is the year that the charity Send a Cow Uganda marks its 25th birthday, after transforming more than a million lives by its work in rural Africa.
The Send a Cow approach to ending poverty is unique and effective. It is a powerful mix of practical farming, emotional support and a culture of sharing that changes the future for millions of African families. By offering agro-tourism, it encourages visitors to experience agricultural life at first hand and have the opportunity to make direct contribution to the farmers that would lead to sustainable development for the farmers and their families. Great Lakes Safaris is proud to be part of this wonderful initiative and therefore has selected Send a Cow as the Charity of the Year.
The celebrations of the 25th anniversary include a Dinner Gala on 21st March at the Sheraton Hotel Kampala. Not only Great Lakes Safaris will be able to personally invite 10 people to this dinner night, but will also offer a special Weekend Offer to Budongo Eco Lodge worth almost US $2,000. The prize includes a fully paid trip to Budongo Forest in Murchison Falls National Park for two people including accommodation, meals, transportation in a 4WD safari vehicle, park entrance fees, ranger fees and a variety of activities.
During the dinner gala the special Weekend Offer will be auctioned to the guests and the winner will be announced by Great Lakes Safaris Director Amos Wekesa. The money raised from the auction will go to Send a Cow.
The partnership between Send a Cow and Great Lakes Safaris was officially sealed on 17th January at the Great Lakes Safaris head office where a cheque of UGX 2,000,000 was presented to the Send a Cow Uganda team.
