In February 2013, Great Lakes Safaris was represented at the 17th Meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee of Experts (ICE). This international conference was held by the Sub-Regional Office for Eastern Africa in Kampala.
ICE brings together expert from 14 countries of Eastern Africa, partner Regional Economic Communities and Intergovernmental Organizations as well as development partners, research centers and other stakeholders. The goal of the event was to discuss key issues with regard to the economic and social development of the sub-region and make recommendations to address these challenges. The theme of this year’s meeting was “Enhancing Energy Access and Energy Security in the Eastern African Sub-region”.
For Great Lakes Safaris it was a unique opportunity to showcase the beauty of our country to our Eastern African partners and reveal the many highlights that this part of the continent has to offer.
