First of all, it was a great trip! The accommodations were excellent, as was the food. The places I liked the best were Mantana and Engagi, mainly because of the beautiful settings. I LOVED Engagi. Beki, my guide, was a nice guy, and very efficient. I enjoyed listening to all his Congolese music as we motored around on those terrible Ugandan ‘roads’.
The gorilla viewing was tremendous, even when the light was marginal, which it was a couple of days. Fantastic animals and I was thrilled to see them. Bwindi felt very ‘real’ and Rwanda was a bit touristy in comparison, but that’s just the way it is I guess. They were both enjoyable though. I would certainly recommend people visit both. It was a beautiful experience and we will never forget our close encounters with the primates. Never in my life did we think we would be able to see the chimps up close and witness the Silverback back in the manner that we did. We highly recommend Gerald (our driver and naturalist) as he was very good with us and went out of his way to make our journey memorable
The chimp habituation is the best way to observe the chimps as they are in the wild and you get to see them on the ground, and be with them. The chimp trek does not always guarantee a close up. Travellers Lodge is a great place to stay and Ishasha… wow… that was nice. Especially to find a flushing toilet in the bush. Lasly Lake Mburo was a beautiful place and if budget and time permits one should stay there for at least two nights. As there are other activities like horse riding to see the animals and other walks that can be done. Thanks again!

Last Friday evening I stayed one night at your lodge in Budongo and then went chimp tracking the following morning. I’d like to say that I enjoyed it very much and was fortunate enough to see a group of chimps. My guide, Sauda, was very well informed and enthusiastic and the experience was everything I had hoped. As regards the accommodation, this was excellent. The bed was by far was the most comfortable I slept in amongst the 7 different hotels of my trip through Uganda and the bedding was also top quality. Good luck for the future.

A very big thank you for organizing such a brilliant holiday for us! All of our trip went exactly to plan and Richard was great, nothing was ever to much trouble for him, a really lovely man. The gorilla trek was really hard but worth every step! We loved all the lodges and the food was amazing.
All in all though, we had a great time, loved Uganda and the lovely friendly people and incredible wildlife. So once again many, many thanks for all your professionalism patience and help in organizing such a great trip. Our thanks also of course to everyone at Great Lakes, to all the staff who were involved, you are a great team. We shall of course be recommending you to everyone.

Let me start by saying my family and I enjoyed the safari immensely. The Gorilla Forest Camp was a wonderful experience. The staff, accommodations, the food, all were exceptional. Mihingo Lodge may be the most exquisite accommodation we have ever stayed, bar none. The setting, the rooms, the view was unparalleled and the food was delightful, as was the staff. The morning walking safari was thrilling. Truly one of the most magnificent accommodations anywhere in the world – and that is spoken my experience.
Our guide Gerald was knowledgeable and friendly. All our needs were accommodated and in a very friendly manner. His driving skills were top shelf. The tracking experience was all we could have hoped for. Our trackers and guides were thorough and professional. The trek through the Bwindi Forest was a dream, it could not have been more spectacular. It was only surpassed by the actual time spent with the Gorilla Family M. Being that close, and experiencing the family in their world was a once in a life time experience. All in all – an amazing and captivating adventure!

Very many thanks for organizing a wonderful holiday in Uganda – everything has changed so much (for the better) since I lived and worked in Kampala in the late 80s. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed our trip and were amazed at the amount of wildlife that was to be seen. Our holiday was made all the better due to the presence of Peter – he was such a good driver, very knowledgeable about everything, very helpful and such a jolly happy fellow. Please pass on our thanks to him. Thanks to everyone at Great Lakes for organizing everything.
