During the first week of September, Uganda has embarked on a major road show across the USA to promote the destination as well as the Annual World Congress which will take place in November in Kampala.
The event is jointly organized with the Africa Travel Association (ATA). Uganda is being represented by tourism board officials – including Amos Wekesa – and tourism private sector stakeholders, under the auspices of Honorable Minister Maria Mutagamba.
The goal of the promotional road show is to build business relationships and linkages between American tour operator, travel specialists, media and the Ugandan tourism industry. It also offers the participants the opportunity to gather more information about the ATA 39th Annual World Congress, including official airline specials from Brussels Airlines, accommodations, pre-and post-country tours, as well as program highlights.
The tour will stop in the following cities:
- 2nd September: Los Angeles
- 3rd September: Atlanta
- 4th September: Washington D.C.
- 8th September: New York
- 10th September: Toronto
The official carrier for the ATA Congress is Brussels Airlines which is offering special fares to the Uganda delegation but also special deals for flights from Washington and New York to Entebbe to attend the World Congress later this year.
