On 19th November, Great Lakes Safaris had the honour to host Miss Tourism Uganda for a day at the company office in Kampala.
The aim of the Miss Tourism Uganda pageant is promoting Uganda’s tourism by showcasing the country’s beauty as the “Pearls of Africa”. The contest creates more awareness for Uganda’s domestic and international tourism, and highlights the diverse and rich tourism attractions.
During a glamorous finale at Sheraton Kampala Hotel on 26th October, Harriet Nakitto was chosen out of nine contestants. The 22-year old had not been the outright favourite for her reserved approach, but she was confident and had brilliant answers about tourism in Uganda. Harriet Nakitto will represent Uganda in the Miss Tourism International Contest to be held in Malaysia in December.
Company Director Amos Wekesa, who was one of the judges in the pageant, says: “Great Lakes Safaris is proud to be the company of her choice to spend an entire day and meet the Great Lakes Safaris team. We wish her God’s blessings and may Uganda take the first prize!”
